Coleman Easterly is a singer, pianist, and recording artist whose musical journey blends lifelong musicianship with a powerful recent creative resurgence. Raised in Cleveland, Tennessee, Easterly began playing piano at age six after being inspired by a live organ performance, studying formally for several years before transitioning into popular and jazz-influenced music during his school years. As a teenager, he performed in talent shows, played in jazz band, and discovered improvisation — a turning point that cemented music as a lifelong passion.
While raising a family with wife Katherine, and building a successful professional career outside the music industry, Easterly continued to play and perform whenever possible, honing his skills privately and within close musical circles, including their two sons. In the early 2000s, he recorded a collection of jazz-inspired piano pieces on an electronic grand piano, later releasing them as the album Keeping My Day Job — a reflective instrumental project that captured his enduring connection to music alongside a full-time career.
A major creative chapter began after relocating to Latitude Margaritaville in Daytona Beach, Florida, where Easterly became immersed in an unusually vibrant, musician-rich community. Within days of arriving, he began jamming with neighbors — an experience that quickly evolved into regular performances and the formation of a neighborhood-based band. Over the next several years, he performed often as a member of the Coral Reef Corner Band at community events, driveways, cul-de-sacs, town-center stages, and regional venues, including the historic Daytona Beach Bandshell, where they appeared multiple times and opened for the Jimmy Buffett tribute act The Caribbean Chillers.
Originally known primarily as a pianist, Easterly began to perform as one of the lead vocalist during this period, discovering that his voice naturally suited country and Americana material. As band lineups shifted, he assumed vocal responsibility for an expanding repertoire, steadily developing confidence, control, and expressive range as a singer.
In addition to band performances, Easterly became a frequent guest performer at Sinatra’s Piano Bar in Lake Helen, Florida, sitting-in with veteran professional musician Tom Gromball in an intimate dueling-piano setting that further sharpened his musicianship and stage presence.
Encouraged by songwriter and producer Randall Lee Richards, Easterly committed in 2025 to recording his first full-length vocal album. The project, currently in production in Nashville, marks his transition from seasoned performer to recording artist, with Richards coaching vocal performance and artistic direction. The album is slated for release in 2026, with a debut single planned for early release.
Now recording, writing, and performing with renewed focus, Coleman Easterly represents a rare artist whose story is defined not by fleeting momentum, but by decades of musicianship culminating in a confident, authentic creative voice.
